How to Make your Company Video Entertaining

When we produce explainer videos, we are faced with a number of challenges and decisions in order to create an effective and engaging video. One of the challenges that we face is creating videos on subject matter that can be a bit sensitive for some, such as home or bank loans.

That’s where our latest client video we produced for New Leaf Lending comes in. We have produced multiple videos for the company to promote their easy-to-use software for both loan agents and customers.

So I bet you’re wondering, how do you make a video about home loans actually interesting enough to watch?

Well, there’s a few tricks up our sleeves, three to be exact!

First off,  it’s important to understand that subject matter is never interesting for people when it’s too difficult to understand. In order to make things entertaining, we must simplify the topic down to a very basic level. Watch the most recent video that we produced for New Leaf Lending and see how we were able to simplify the home loan process.

Our next step is to make this subject more comprehensible with the visuals. For this video, we decided to use as little detail as possible by using whiteboard animation. Along with the simple visuals, we also incorporated relatable characters.

Finally we incorporated a little bit of humor. Why not! When all else fails, give your video something to smile about. Did we really need to simulate difficulty with an elderly man using a walker on a treadmill, NO, but we did anyways just to make you smile.

As you can see, any business can have an entertaining business video with the key ingredient of simplicity! Interested in other video styles? Then stop by our portfolio page to watch our latest video creations!
