How to Maintain Engagement for your Video Campaign

You finally produced your video, posted it onto your video hosting site, and promoted it on social media. That’s great! Then you notice that your video’s engagement started out strong but has started a drop off in viewer engagement and interactions. Sometimes we must re-evaluate our efforts in order to continually promote our videos.  Which means that it’s time to get your promotional hat on and start re-marketing your video in order to continue garnering new viewers. Here’s our expert tips on how to consistently generate new views to your video and engage your target audience.

Before you start re-marketing your video, you must asses the current behavior from your viewers, so that you understand the demographic watching your video. Analyze your video metrics for the following:

1. Is it generating feedback? ie: comments, likes, interaction

2. Are people viewing it on a continual basis?

Once you have an idea of your viewers’ behavior, then it’s time to regain interaction with your video campaign.  Here are some ideas on what to do.

1. Send it to bloggers

Now that your video is online and settled in, you should share your video with some relevant bloggers. Now that doesn’t mean just sending your video all over the place but rather organically finding writers who discuss or have interest in your industry or video topic. Look at it as a way to help you promote your video, while helping them to have a fresh new story.

2. Send to Social Aggregators

Sometimes we think we know our ideal customer base and then become suddenly surprised to find out that there are other types of business or people that are interested in our product. In order to try to get your video in front of more people, try posting your video onto social aggregator sites, such as Reddit or Digg. The not only generate conversations, but may bring light to another ideal market.

3. Change the Video Title

As a video production company, we have a lot of videos online. Every so often our team will review viewers’ engagement and may modify the video title to better engage our audience. Overtime you may even discover a style of title that attracts more people. For instance, most of our videos that start with ‘How to’ tend to generate the highest amount of views. Take your time to test this, as it may serve useful for your next video!

4. Interact in Video Communities

Sometimes if the viewers are not finding you, then you need to find them. A great way to attract fresh, and relevant viewers to your brand is to join related communities.
