How has Mobility affected Video Production Agencies?

The surge of mobile viewership has increased by a whopping 360% since last year. As this trend is steadily increasing, especially with the rise of tablets and mobile devices, how will video production agencies (like us) shift with this demand?

As customer demands for mobile capabilities increase, businesses must, of course, cater to customer needs by creating explanatory videos for mobile viewing. In terms of video production agencies, we have had to transition our offerings to these oncoming video trends. Here’s how:

Video Hosting
Mobile viewership has a few concerns for production agencies, first and most importantly, the time it takes to load a video. People are less patient on mobile devices, so you must ensure that your video downloads fast in order to not lose your viewer’s interest. How have we dealt with this dilemma? We have shifted our videos onto Wistia which has iOS features and great hosting benefits.

Devices Used
Not all videos are the same, especially when played on different devices. When we create our videos, we must know exactly where our clients will post them, so we can create visuals for that particular device.

Technology
In terms of technology, we use all of the same processes, since our explainer videos are illustrated. We do have to consider every detail, such as which colors look best on a mobile phone, but overall our process hasn’t changed much.

Here at Revolution Productions, we try to remain ahead of the trends by teaching ourselves mobile video design and tablet specifications when we first hear of these trends. If not, we’ll just be left behind.
